PF OLSEN LTD: Tuararangaia / Tahora 2G2 – Hauler Clearfell Harvest Notification
Please be advised that clearfell hauler harvesting is planned to commence in Tuararangaia Forest in August 2010.
The clear fell crew has been identified and five (5) of the nine (9) crew are of Tūhoe descendants.
Please be aware that PF Olsen will be seeking a crew in 2012.

PF OLSEN LTD: Tuararangaia / Tahora 2G2 Nominations for Future Employment
PF OLSEN Employment Criteria
PF Olsen has an obligation under the lease their Lease Agreement with TWMTB for both Tuararangaia 1B and Tahora 2G2.
Listed below are the information requirements and criteria needed for crew selection and employment with PF Olsen Limited (Forest Operations Manager):
- Curriculum Vitae including experience and crew skills relevant to the offered.
- ACC WSMP Accreditation (Workshop Safety Management Program).
- Provide evidence of a Quality Control System and Log Value Recovery (Road line Crew Requirement).
- Demonstrated and auditable performance in health, safety and environmental practices.
- Appropriate Modules for task for employees.
- Crew owner must spend a minimum of 80% of his time working within the crew.
- Acceptance of terms and conditions in OTPP New Zealand Forest Investments agreement.
- Insurance:
- Provide evidence of a comprehensive Public Liability insurance policy not less than $5 million in respect to injury or damage to persons and property, and not less than $200,000- in respect of fire fighting costs.
- Provide evidence of third party indemnity insurance in favour of the contractor and the forest manager and forest owner in respect of any claims arising from accidents to motor vehicles operated on behalf of the contractor and in respect of damage to property of the forest manager, the forest owner and/or any third party for an amount not less than $2 million.
- Provide evidence of insurance cover for accidental loss of its own or hired or leased equipment, for those items of equipment with a replacement value of more than $50,000-
Process for identification of interested parties:
PF Olsen Limited may use one of the following methods to identify suitable contractors to undertake the work depending on the circumstances:
- Closed – Tender or Request for Proposals (RFP) process
- Parties suitable to undertake the work either are approached or invited to submit a proposal.
- Open – Tender and Request for Proposals (RFP) process
- Advertisements are placed in local newspapers, and maybe placed in industry periodicals. The advert will be for either a RFP or a Tender
